You can find full Workers&#8217; Compensation details in the official policy on the University&#8217;s policies website.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"u-link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/policies\/policy\/workers-compensation\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">View full policy<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"u-link-pdf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WC-Quick-Reference.pdf\">View the WC Quick Reference Sheet<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How to report an incident<\/h2>\n<p>Any work-related injury or illness, including needle sticks or exposures, must be reported to your supervisor. This includes any injury occurring on University premises, while on University assignment off University premises, and any illness which you believe may have been caused by your University work.<\/p>\n<p>After verbally reporting the incident to your supervisor, complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.safety.rochester.edu\/SMH115.html\">employee incident report form (SMH115)<\/a>.\u00a0 In the event of a life-threatening situation on-premises, Public Safety should be contacted at x13 from any University phone, or dial <a href=\"tel:5852753333\">(585) 275-3333<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"u-link-external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.safety.rochester.edu\/SMH115.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Complete a Workers&#8217; Compensation incident report<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Report a return from Workers&#8217; Compensation<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re reporting a return from WC for one of your employees\/members of your department, you\u2019ll need to complete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/benefits\/leave-disability\/return-from-disability-workers-compensation-report\/\">this online form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you require additional support, explore the resources available to you through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/benefits\/leave-disability\/return-to-work\/\">Return to Work program.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Workers&#8217; Compensation (WC) is insurance that provides employees injured on the job with wage reimbursement and payments for medical care related to the injury.
