Only preventative, dental, and vision are permitted.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Please Note: Unless your domestic partner qualifies as your tax dependent, you\u2019re not eligible to withdraw funds tax-free for their qualified health care expenses. However, if you\u2019re enrolled in a family HDHP covering your domestic partner and they meet the other HSA eligibility requirements, they may establish and contribute to their own HSA outside of the University.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>","accordion_anchor":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"accordion","accordion_title":"2026 Contribution Information","icon":"","row_content":"The maximum amount that you may contribute to your HSA is dependent on your health plan coverage:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Single Coverage: $4,400 per plan year<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Coverage Including Dependents: $8,750 per plan year<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nEmployees age 55 or older may contribute an additional $1,000 to their HSA in 2026.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>You may change your HSA annual contribution election at any point throughout the year by submitting the <u><strong>UR Change My Health Savings Election benefit event in myURHR Workday<\/strong><u>; no qualifying event is needed.<\/u><\/u><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Unused funds in your account at the end of the year will roll over to the next year.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nEligible full-time faculty, staff earning less than $72,400 (salary band 1), and residents and fellows who enroll in the <strong><u>UR Health Savings ER Contribution Plan<\/u><\/strong><u> <strong>in myURHR Workday<\/strong><\/u> during Open Enrollment will receive a one-time contribution of $200 (for single) or $400 (for all coverage levels other than single) to their HSA from the University. We will also provide a prorated contribution to full-time employees earning less than $72,400 and Residents and Fellows if they are new hires, rehires, newly eligible employees, or experiencing a qualifying event allowing new enrollment.\r\n\r\nEmployees must enroll in the <strong><u>YOUR HSA-Eligible Plan<\/u><\/strong> and the <strong><u>UR Health Savings ER Contribution Plan in myURHR Workday to receive University funding.<\/u><\/strong>","accordion_anchor":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"accordion","accordion_title":"Covered expenses","icon":"","row_content":"You may use your HSA to pay for qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses. You can also\u00a0<a class=\"u-link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.myalex.com\/university-of-rochester\/home#hsa-pay\">watch this helpful video<\/a>.\r\n\r\nWhen you enroll in an HSA, your HSA administrator will send you an HSA card to use at point-of-sale, but you also have the option to request a reimbursement online.\r\n\r\nThe CARES (Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security) Act, passed by Congress, has expanded covered expenses that you may use your HSA on. The act is retroactive as of 1\/1\/2020.
