About HRAs<\/h2>","content":"An HRA is a tax-favored health reimbursement arrangement used to reimburse eligible health care expenses, up to an annual maximum amount.\r\n\r\nThe University of Rochester\u2019s retiree health plan includes an HRA that will reimburse Medicare-eligible Participants for Medicare medical, prescription drug, dental and vision qualified premiums, up to an annual maximum amount.\r\n\r\nA retiree and his or her spouse who are both Medicare-eligible Participants will be eligible for an annual maximum HRA reimbursement amount that can be used to reimburse eligible medical premiums incurred by either participant.\r\n\r\nIf an enrolled Medicare-eligible Participant has not incurred sufficient qualified plan premium expenses, or has not been reimbursed up to the annual maximum reimbursement amount for the Plan Year, the remaining HRA balance will be carried forward to the following Plan Year.\r\n\r\nBeginning January 1, 2023, the HRA amount can be used to reimburse eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses* in addition to the qualified premium expenses. <\/strong>\r\n\r\n* Medical Expenses under IRS Code Section 213 (d)","background_color":"#ffffff","width":"width-medium"}],"sidebar":"show__sidebar","sidebar_feed":"menu_select","menu":"316","page_links":null,"sub_menu":"816","content_modules":[{"acf_fc_layout":"text","anchor":"eligibility","css_class":"","title":"

Eligibility<\/h2>","content":"The HRA is a retiree-only plan for Medicare-eligible retirees. Because the plan is retiree only, IRS regulations do not allow individuals who are employed by the University to participate in the plan. A retiree who is re-employed by the University, including in a time as reported (TAR) position with the University, will cease participating in the plan. Once the re-employment ends, access to the HRA restarts effective the first of the month following and the retiree and their spouse will be eligible for the HRA subsidy for periods after employment ends.\r\n\r\nEnrollment in medical coverage must be completed through Via Benefits in order to be eligible for the HRA for Medicare eligible retirees.","background_color":"#f4f4f4","width":"width-medium"},{"acf_fc_layout":"text","anchor":"university-contribution","css_class":"","title":"

HRA reimbursement<\/h2>","content":"To submit a claim, you will need to obtain an individualized claim form through Via Benefits or submit it online<\/a>. More information on the next steps is detailed below.\r\n\r\nClaim forms can be obtained by calling Via Benefits at (833) 945-1110<\/a>. These requests can be made either automatically through IVR or through a customer service representative.\r\n\r\nYou can also submit a request online on the Via Benefits website<\/a> for processing up to 10 days faster. Once you access your reimbursement account, you can review your account balance and activity, submit a reimbursement request online, or sign up for direct deposit. To get to your reimbursement account, follow these steps:\r\n

  1. Sign in<\/a> to your Via Benefits account. Note: You must create an account if you haven't already. Learn how to create an account<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n \t
  2. On the My Account<\/strong> page, select the name of the family member whose information you wish to view.<\/li>\r\n \t
  3. Select View Accounts<\/strong> in the Funds and Reimbursements<\/strong> section.<\/li>\r\n \t
  4. Select Reimbursement Center<\/strong> on the Funds and Reimbursements<\/strong> page.
