{"id":97292,"date":"2022-11-21T15:40:41","date_gmt":"2022-11-21T20:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/?page_id=97292"},"modified":"2026-03-18T11:00:41","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:00:41","slug":"program-expectations-and-eligibility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/professional-success\/ur-career-pathways-program\/program-expectations-and-eligibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Program Eligibility and Expectations"},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":212,"featured_media":0,"parent":97172,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-templates\/one-column.php","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","_members_access_role":[],"_members_access_error":""},"class_list":["post-97292","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":{"lead_in":"","display_title":"","subtitle":"","call_to_action":"","hero_image_placement":"no_image","hero_media":"images","hero_pattern_option":"","hero_video":"","hero_image_landing":"","hero_image_landing_two":"","hero_image_landing_three":"","content_modules_above":[{"acf_fc_layout":"text","anchor":"","css_class":"","title":"","content":"<strong>The focus of the UR Career Pathways program is on helping current employees begin a new career pathway in a high-demand position. <\/strong>\r\n<h2><strong>Eligibility criteria<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Must have been employed by the University for at least one continuous year in their current regular full-time position, prior to submission of the URCP application\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Applicants interested in nursing positions (LPN or RN) must have been employed with the organization and in their current full-time position for at least nine (9) months prior to submission of the URCP application.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Must have received a Successful or higher on their most recent performance evaluation<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Is in good standing (no corrective action in the last six months)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Is interested in career development at the University<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Has been recommended by their current manager<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Exclusions:<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Employees of affiliate hospitals (Highland, Finger Lakes Health, Thompson, Noyes, Jones, St. James) are not eligible to participate in URCP.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Individuals who have already been accepted into or started an academic degree program are not eligible to participate in URCP. <\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Individuals who have completed a Doctoral (or otherwise terminal) degree are not eligible for the program.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Individuals represented by collective bargaining agreements may participate in Career Navigation Services and URCP Academic\/Success Coaching, but will receive benefits in accordance with those agreements.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Expectations<\/h2>\r\nAs a participant in the UR Career Pathways (URCP) program, there are certain expectations that must be met to ensure successful completion of the program and career development, including:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Remaining an active full-time employee throughout the program<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Maintaining good standing in your current role with no corrective action<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Timely communication and regular meetings with assigned URCP Success Coach and Academic Advisor to ensure success and continued tuition support.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Active communication and collaboration with your supervisor to coordinate work schedules and approval for paid release time if applicable<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>While participating in URCP, it is important to understand that:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Participation in URCP does not guarantee a new position or promotion.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Acceptance into URCP does not guarantee admission into an educational or training program. You are responsible for meeting criteria and applying for admission into any URCP-approved academic or training program.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>If employment ends (voluntarily or involuntarily), eligibility for participation in the URCP program and any University sponsorship for external education will end.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Participating employees will not be eligible for other University-sponsored tuition benefits while in this
