Also, the reporting system in Workday is something I\u2019m excited about and interested to see all the new reports that will be available so that we can better manage our department.\r\n\r\n<strong>What piece of advice would you like to share with your colleagues as we get ready for myURHR?<\/strong>\r\n\r\nJoin as many<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/professional-success\/myurhr\/demo-days\/\"> Demo Days sessions<\/a> as possible that apply to your role and be prepared to train. Take training seriously and ask questions to learn and help reduce the time it takes to adapt to the new systems, Workday and UKG, that power myURHR.\r\n\r\n<strong>What keeps you motivated while working in an ever-changing environment?<\/strong>\r\n\r\nMy team keeps me motivated. We are always willing to come together and find solutions so that we are supporting our department in the most efficient and strategic ways possible.\r\n\r\n<strong>What is your favorite inspirational quote?<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\u201cIntelligence without ambition is a bird without wings,\u201d by Salvador Dali.\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\n<h2><img class=\"alignright wp-image-154102 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/human-resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/employee-spotlight-david-vanwey.png\" alt=\"David VanWey, myURHR Super User for Laboratory for Laser Energetics\u00a0\" width=\"820\" height=\"820\" \/>David VanWey<\/h2>\r\nmyURHR Super User\r\n<em>Laboratory for Laser Energetics\u00a0<\/em>\r\n\r\n<strong>As a myURHR Super User, how do you feel your myURHR role is having an impact on the University community?<\/strong>\r\n\r\nWe have a wide variety of employees at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics: Faculty, staff, students, and staff represented by bargaining units. I never lack for examples to bring to the table!\r\n\r\n<strong>What is the number one workflow or task that you want to learn more about when myURHR training begins this summer?<\/strong>\r\n\r\nI am looking forward to a lot. What will the hiring process look like? How will we sign up for benefits? What will the onboarding process entail? We need to make sure our new hires feel welcome.\r\n\r\n<strong>How do you handle challenging projects or tasks OR how do you approach challenges in your position?<\/strong>\r\n\r\nI try to use the \u201cdivide and conquer\u201d approach. A large task can seem daunting; however, several smaller ones are doable. Achieving milestones along the way also provides a sense of accomplishment to the whole team.\r\n\r\n<strong>What piece of advice would you like to share with your colleagues as we get ready for myURHR?<\/strong>\r\n\r\nPay attention! We have a big job ahead of all of us.\r\n\r\n<strong>What is your favorite inspirational quote?<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\u201cEverybody\u2019s got something,\u201d by Robin
