The processing time for preparing an H-1B application for filing (once the complete request is received) is approximately one month. Please allow adequate time before reaching out to ISO for application updates.\r\n<h2><strong>Step one: Working with the U.S. Department of Labor <\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<strong>Length of time: <\/strong>One month\r\n\r\n<strong>Overview of actions taken:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>ISO Scholar and Employee Services advisors will determine the prevailing wage rate for the position using the US Department of Labor's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center Online Wage Library.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>We\u2019ll then compare the prevailing wage with the actual wage rate paid by the University to all individuals similarly employed with similar experience and qualifications. This comparison produces the required wage rate which must be the higher of the two.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Once we have the required wage rate, we\u2019ll file a Labor Condition Application (LCA) with the United States Department of Labor (DOL) for certification.
