2013 Best of Category:
Long Promotional Video

Awarded by the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services.

This video was created to promote the Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC) to current and prospective faculty, post-docs, and graduate students who may be interested in big data or research computing. The goal was to educate the audience about the benefits of using computation in research and what services the CIRC provides.

The 2011-12 IT Annual Report video presents highlights of the print publication, showcasing the University's IT accomplishments over the past year and the benefits that these accomplishments provide to the University community.

The "Sick Computers" video promotes the availability of free antivirus software for all faculty, staff, and students. It was originally released during the winter cold season to reinforce the theme.

Awarded by the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services.

The 2013 social networking security campaign features 9 supervillains, each focused on a different issue to help students stay safe with social networking. The materials will be distributed through social media (videos, memes), posters, digital signage, campus kiosks, and trailers before campus movies.

General Service Promotional Materials

Awarded by the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services.

The "Be Afraid" t-shirts were handed out to students during the 2011 Scare Fair in Rush Rhees Library, held annually on Halloween. It was designed to support the Halloween theme while also presenting an information security tip.

2012 Award of Excellence:
Short Promotional Video

Awarded by the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services.

The intent of the "Phishing Bells" video is to educate the University community, students in particular, about the dangers of phishing scams in an entertaining way. Originally released during the 2011 holiday season, it is styled as a music video spoof of "Jingle Bells" and features a student IT employee--who is also a member of one of the University's a cappella groups--as one of the singers.

The 2008 Data Security Awareness Campaign features colorful and edgy postcards filled with data security tips, along with a similarly-themed 12-month calendar to remind staff of computer security all year round.
