Gamma Phi Beta Sorority is sponsoring a "Lucky Rubber Ducky" contest at 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, at the footbridge in Genesee Valley Park.
At the event, rubber ducks will be thrown into the river and raced to the end of the docks. The person whose duck reaches the finish line first will win $250. There are two $50 runner-up prizes.
Tickets can be purchased for $3 or two for $5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 18, to Friday, Oct 22, in Douglas Dining Center; from 1 to 4 p.m., Oct. 18 to 22, in Wilson Commons, where tickets can be flexed; and from 5 to 7 p.m., Oct. 18 to 20, at Danforth Dining Hall.
This event supports the Hillside Children's Center.
