Iftikhar and Elizabeth Dadi, installation artists from Cornell University's Department of Art History, will discuss interventions and the postcolonial period at 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, in room 201 of Schlegel Hall on the River Campus.
Work by the Dadis deals with the depiction of popular art in postcolonial societies, and represents the multiple and diverse influences that are common to life in these societies. They are currently working on a public art project in association with the Asia Society in New York City.
Their lecture, titled "Popular Visuality and High Art," is free and open to the public. In the talk, the artists will elaborate on their recent work. They will also give seminars and workshops to students in the Program in Visual and Cultural Studies of the Department of Art and Art History.
