Campus Times, the weekly student newspaper of the University of Rochester, was named a finalist for the Pacemaker Award by the Associated Collegiate Press this month.
The newspaper was one of 15 non-daily newspapers at four- year colleges chosen as finalists out of 70 competitors. The Pacemaker Award recognizes the best collegiate newspapers in the country.
In addition, staff photographer Marie Castro placed third in the Photograph of the Year competition for her picture of a mother and two daughters visiting the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt at the University last April.
Campus Times has been published since 1873. More than 75 students regularly contribute.
