Douglas W. Wylie has been appointed controller of the University of Rochester.
The controller serves as the administrative officer with primary responsibility for the University's systems of accounting, financial reporting, and financial controls. He manages several units, including accounts payable, general accounting, sponsored programs accounting, and payroll, as well as the bursar's and gift offices.
Wylie had been assistant controller, controller, and then project director of strategic planning at the University of Pittsburgh. Earlier, he had been associate director in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Division of Fiscal Services. He also has served as director of financial affairs and vice president of finance at Aliquippa Hospital, in Aliquippa, Pa., and as an audit manager at Ernst & Whinney, in Pittsburgh.
He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh.
