A newsletter produced by an electronic imaging center at the University of Rochester has been cited for its excellence by the Rochester Society for Technical Communication.
The "Electronic Imaging Review" is produced quarterly by the Center for Electronic Imaging Systems and includes news about the center, where scientists and engineers work closely with scientists from industry on a variety of problems in digital imaging. These include three-dimensional computer holograms, software engineering, information storage, image compression, and graphics hardware and software. Potential applications range from high-definition television to motion picture technology, robot vision, and reconstruction of medical images.
The center, operated by the University and the Rochester Institute of Technology, is one of 13 New York State centers for advanced technology, and one of 10 state/industry/university cooperative research centers funded by the National Science Foundation.
