The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures is sponsoring a screening of Boys! Be Ambitious! This movie is set against the Osaka Exposition of 1970. It follows the life of a teenage gang that works out its own adolescent version of Fight Club, with some interesting twists. The movie will be shown at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 20, in Hoyt Auditorium on the University of Rochester River Campus.
This film is the last in a series sponsored annually at American universities and cultural institutions by the Japan Foundation. This series, "Coming of Age in Japan," is aimed at providing a glimpse into Japanese culture.
