For the eighth consecutive year, the Pi Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will award two or more scholarships to deserving students from the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, and SUNY Brockport campus communities.
Since 1992, the Denise Y. Giles Memorial Scholarship Fund has enabled recipients to offset some of the costs of attending college by granting book awards of $250 each. The scholarship will be partially funded through money raised by the 8th Annual Crimson & Creme Benefit Ball, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 at the Top of the Plaza. The ball will include an elegant dining atmosphere, a talent showcase, a jazz band, cocktails, door prizes, and much more.
Tickets may be purchased at the Common Market in Wilson Commons at the University of Rochester River Campus in advance for $15 or at the door for $20. Group rates may be available.
Donations for the scholarship are welcome. For more information concerning donations or tickets, call Pascale Duvert at (585) 756-8140.
