The University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra, a 100-member orchestra composed of musicians from throughout the community as well as University students, still has openings for experienced violists, cellists, and bassists.
Interested players should contact the Department of Music at (716) 275-2828 to schedule an audition.
Major works by Bernstein, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Richard Strauss, and Tchaikovsky will highlight this season's four concerts. The orchestra is also scheduled to perform on WXXI FM's Live from Hochstein series on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.
