The Association of College Unions International recently presented Anne-Marie Algier with the Richard D. Blackburn New Professional Award.
Algier is assistant director of student activities and programs at the University of Rochester. The award, which honors a young professional for outstanding service to his or her institution and the ACUI, was presented at the association's international conference in March in New Orleans.
Algier has presented sessions at regional and international ACUI conferences and has published several articles. She has been honored by her students, the university, the community, and her professional colleagues. Algier was cited for operating "from a position of trust with a reputation for being honest and caring, and is described as a person with boundless energy and an engaging personality."
Recently named Advisor of the Year for Golden Key National Honor Society, Algier is the ACUI representative from her region. She is working toward a doctorate in education at the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester.
