The next “Wilson Commons Wednesday” will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the Hirst Lounge of Wilson Commons with a theme celebrating Mardi Gras. The menu specialties include jambalaya, roast pork loin with sweet pecan sauce, collard greens, red beans and rice, bayou slaw, and spiced pecan peach cobbler. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will cost $7.50.
The event will feature music by the University of Rochester Jazz Quartet, vendor showcases by Third World Gifts, handmade items from Peru and Ecuador, tie-dye items, and hair and skin products. In addition, free bread slices from Montana Mills, free cookies and coupons from Pita Pit, coupons from Mane Attraction, and coupons and chair massages from Choose Life Day Spa will be available.
This monthly program is sponsored by the Wilson Commons Student Activities and Dining Services. Next month’s theme will be St. Patrick’s Day. The entire UR community is invited to attend and enjoy the music, food, and friendly atmosphere.
