The Spanish and Latino Students' Association (SALSA) and the University of Rochester's Dining Services are sponsoring "Cocina Latina"—The Latin Kitchen—from 11 a.m. to midnight Thursday, March 18, in the Pit and the Common Ground Café in Wilson Commons on the River Campus.
Students and dining services chefs will prepare dishes from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. Entrees will include soups, salads, sandwiches, and vegetarian and vegan options. Spanish coffee and pastries provided by Sabor Bakery will be sold in the Common Ground Café.
The festive mood will be enhanced with decorations throughout the first floor and piped-in Latin jazz, salsa, and merengue music. The event will include a prize giveaway at 7:45 p.m.
SALSA sponsors two dinners each semester. The student group held an event at the Eastman Dining Center earlier in the spring semester.
