The University of Rochester will hold another public meeting to discuss, and invite comment on, its plans for cogeneration at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at St. Anne Church Social Hall, 1600 Mt. Hope Ave.
The University is planning improvements to the campus utility plant (located just north of Elmwood Avenue near Kendrick Road) so that the plant can produce electricity along with the steam now generated to heat and cool buildings on the River Campus and at the Medical Center. Cogeneration of electricity and steam will be accomplished using no more fuel than if only steam was produced.
The meeting will feature information about the project status, the permit approval process, and the project schedule; members of the public are invited to ask questions. Information on the project is also available at www.facilities.rochester.edu, the Web page for University Facilities and Services.
The University of Rochester (www.rochester.edu) is one of the nation's leading private universities.
