"Wilson Commons Wednesdays" is back with its second event of the year. The theme is Oktoberfest, featuring German food and music, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the Hirst Lounge in Wilson Commons on the River Campus.
The Greater Rochester Visitors Association and the University of Rochester Conference & Events Office will raffle off gifts from Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Best Buy, Bruegger's Bagel Bakery, UR Cinema Group, and the Greater Rochester Visitors Association. Representatives from the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will also attend the event to distribute information and to raffle off a pair of concert tickets for one of their shows this season.
This event's menu will include Bavarian cabbage, hot German potato salad, pork chops, Knockwurst and potatoes lentil, stuffed vegetarian peppers, and German Black Forest bars.
This monthly program is sponsored by the Wilson Commons Student Activities and Dining Services. Future "Wilson Commons Wednesdays" themes are Italian on Nov. 10 and holiday celebrations on Dec. 8. The entire UR community is invited to attend and enjoy the music, food, and friendly atmosphere.
