Fran Weisberg, president and CEO of Lifespan of Greater Rochester, Inc., has been named director of government relations for the University of Rochester.
"Fran Weisberg is a University graduate with a keen understanding of the University's contributions to the greater community," said Peter Robinson, executive director of government relations, to whom Weisberg will report. "She will be a great resource to us in our continuing relations with government officials at the local, state, and federal levels."
Weisberg has been president and CEO of Lifespan since 1994, and previously was health care reform coordinator for the Monroe County Legal Assistance Corporation and Greater Upstate Law Project. Earlier in her career, she was program director for the Monroe County Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, Regional Council on Aging. From 1988 to 1992, she served as chair of the Monroe County Democratic Committee.
A current or past member of the boards of many community organizations, she is a 1975 graduate of the University of Rochester.
