Krzysztof Zamorski, professor at the Institute of History at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and visiting professor at the University of Rochester, will answer the question, “Is History a Human Experience of the Past?,” at a noon luncheon seminar on Wednesday, March 30, on the University of Rochester’s River Campus.
His talk in the Gamble Room of Rush Rhees Library is sponsored by the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies and co-sponsored by the Department of History. It is free and open to the University community.
Zamorski is professor at the Institute of History at Jagiellonian and visiting professor at the Skalny Center this semester. In Poland, his current appointments include head of the advisory board of the Museum of Krakow History; member of the Polish Libraries Council representing the Polish Ministry of Education; and chair of the Department of Theory of History and History of Historiography at the Institute of History at Jagiellonian.
He earned his doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy and History at Jagiellonian University. In fall 1999, Zamorski also taught at Rochester as a visiting professor at the Skalny Center.
