Due to continuing work on the University of Rochester’s cogeneration project, lane reductions on Elmwood Avenue just east of Kendrick Road will be put into place starting the week of April 11. Lane reductions will remain in effect for a three- to four-week period.
The University is upgrading its current utility plant to enable “cogeneration”—simultaneously producing electricity and the steam used to heat and cool River Campus and Medical Center buildings. As part of the project, new hot water distribution lines are being installed between the central utility plant and the University of Rochester Medical Center.
More information about the cogeneration project is available at http://www.facilities.rochester.edu/cogeneration/.
