The first "Wilson Commons Wednesday" celebration for 2005-2006 will feature an "Islands of the Caribbean" theme and will be held on Sept. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In addition to the buffet, the event will feature free samples of fudge from the Common Market and a plant sale by Garner's Greenhouse. Entertainment will feature live steel drum music, and there will be a raffle for gift certificates from local businesses.
The celebration of "Wilson Commons Wednesdays" is sponsored by Student Activities and Dining Services as a joint effort to engage the entire University community—faculty and staff as well as students—in enjoying an original and festive atmosphere in Wilson Commons on the River Campus. Themes for the rest of the semester are "Harvest of Rochester" on Oct. 5, Polish food and music on Nov. 2, and "Viva Italia" on Dec. 7.
