ADMISSION: Free and open to the public.
Note: Parking is available on University lots after 7 p.m. weeknights.
Wojciech Bienkowski, professor and director of the U.S. Economy Research Center at the Warsaw School of Economics, will speak on "Environmental Protection in the New Europe: Poland Joins the EU." Currently, he is a visiting scholar at Harvard University. His talk is sponsored by the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies and co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science and the W. Allen Wallis Institute of Political Economy.
Bienkowski's past professional activities related to the environment include serving as investment director at European Environmental Partners, and directing the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw as vice president and head of international cooperation. He is the author of books and articles on the Polish economy, the economics of transition, and the impact of Ronald Reagan's economic policies on U.S. competitiveness.
