ADMISSION: Free and open to the public
Kevin Kling, a playwright who is well-known as a storyteller on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, built his reputation in Minnesota in the 1990s with his original plays 21A and Fear and Loving in Minneapolis, and gained national recognition by touring his one-man show, titled Home and Away.
Kling's other plays, such as The Ice Fishing Play and Gravity vs. Levity, have been performed at national and international festivals, including the Sundance Institute. He has also adapted a number of children's plays, including Lily's Purple Plastic Purse and Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. He will be introduced by Norm Silverstein, president and CEO of WXXI.
Kling is the final guest for this year's Neilly Lecture Series, which is supported by the Andrew H. Neilly and Janet Dayton Neilly Endowment, and the River Campus Libraries. Free parking will be available in the Library Lot at the rear of Rush Rhees Library.
