City children who are tutored by University of Rochester students at the Baden Street Settlement will plant a tree to honor the volunteers Wednesday, May 4, at 4 p.m. The tree will be planted on the River Campus behind Interfaith Chapel's lower level.
The volunteers at Baden Street Settlement are among hundreds of University of Rochester students who donate their time to local organizations. Following the tree planting, a picnic will be held to recognize student volunteer efforts through the University's Community Service Network.
For more information, call (585) 275-4085.
Note to editors: The tree planting would make a good photo opportunity. Closest place to park: metered spaces on Wilson Boulevard. A paved path to the left of the chapel leads to the lower level along the river.
