TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: From 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Douglass Dining Center on the University of Rochester's River Campus.
ADMISSION: Free and open to the public. Parking available in University lots.
The South Asian Expo, an annual event that aims to raise awareness of the diverse South Asian culture, offers educational booths displaying everything from history, languages, sports, to Bollywood (India's version of Hollywood).
The expo, sponsored by Association for the Development of Interest in the Indian Subcontinent (ADITI), will also be a chance to be entertained South Asian style. Students will be applying mendhi/henna for $1, Indian Food catered by Thali of India for $1 to $5, and a caricature artist ($2 for individuals and $3 for couples). Also, students will perform choreographed dances representing all areas of South Asia, and there will also be surprise guests throughout the free event.
