TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, in Strong Auditorium on the University's River Campus
ADMISSION: Free and open to the public
The University of Rochester Chamber Orchestra is a 40-member group of student musicians, dedicated to the performance of works ranging from the baroque to the contemporary. Currently under the direction of David Harman, professor of music and director of orchestral activities, the group has traveled both nationally and internationally. This concert will feature the works of such celebrated composers as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Dvorak.
The concert will also feature junior Stefanie Trop, winner of the River Campus Concerto Competition. Trop is one of three winners of this year's competition, and will be performing the first movement of Nielsen's Flute Concerto at the concert.
