TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 2 p.m., Sunday, April 22, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester
ADMISSION: Admission is free, donations appreciated.
Members of the Catholic Newman Community of Eastman will perform an hour-long concert of vocal performances and instrumental solos to raise money for its yearly activities. The group offers Catholic students at the Eastman School of Music fellowship through Thursday evening mass, bible study, an annual retreat, and community service activities.
The money raised at the April 22 event will help pay for speakers, the annual retreat to the Abbey of the Genesee, and costs associated with community service projects, said Ryan Glick, cochair for fundraising and development for the Catholic Newman Community of Eastman. Last year, the group worked on a Habitat for Humanity home in Sodus, NY.
The concert will feature instrumental and vocal works including styles from classical to jazz. Light refreshments will be served afterward.
