Blachnio will perform pieces by celebrated composers such as Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, and Bach. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Music and the Skalny Center for Polish and Central European Studies.
Born in Ostroda, Poland, Blachnio is a senior at the Eastman School of Music. He studies piano performance with Thomas Schumacher and harpsichord with William Porter, and also has completed a minor in mathematics. Blachnio has received numerous awards, including a Fine Arts Award in piano from the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where he graduated in 2003.
