Event Supports Local Economy; Promotes Sustainability on Campus
WHO: The University of Rochester\'s Campus Dining Services hosts the Eat Local. Live Well. Trade Show to promote sustainability and support the local economy.
TIME, DATE, PLACE: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, May Room (Wilson Commons)
WHAT: ARAMARK, the University of Rochester\'s dining service provider, has partnered with local farmers and food vendors to bring awareness and support of the local economy to the campus community.
The Trade Show features over 15 local vendors, including SOHO Bagel, Upstate Farms, Perry\'s Ice Cream, Vanilla Swirl, Freshwise Farms, Coffee Connection, Boulevard Produce, and the Little Bakery.
This event was developed with the collaboration of University students eager for more local food menu items and transparency in the ingredients and meals served on their campus. The culmination of a weeklong program, the trade show allows students to interact directly with vendors and learn about their businesses.
PARKING: Parking is available at the Library Lot, located behind Rush Rhees Library.
FOR MORE INFORMATION: For more information about the event, email Mary Locke at Locke-Mary@aramark.com. Media interested in covering the trade show can call Melissa Greco Lopes at 585.260.6666.
