Concert Marks First Public Appearance since the Group's Run on 'The Sing-Off'
WHO: After an exhilarating run on NBC's The Sing-Off, the University of Rochester YellowJackets will take the stage, performing songs heard on the hit reality television show as well as classic tunes from their traditional repertoire. Joining the YellowJackets on stage are special guests all-girl powerhouses Delilah and newly crowned The Sing-Off season three champions Pentatonix.
TIME, DATE, PLACE: 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre (26 Gibbs Street, Rochester).
WHAT: The concert will feature a selection of songs heard on The Sing-Off, including World Cup anthem Wavin' Flag by K'naan. Additionally, an after-school a cappella group comprised of students from the Rochester City School District's World of Inquiry will take the stage in its debut performance. The group, ROCappella, was created in a partnership between the YellowJackets and the World of Inquiry. This fall, members of the YellowJackets met weekly with a group of students, helping them learn singing techniques and introducing them to a cappella arrangements of popular songs heard on the radio.
TICKETS: Tickets for the concert are $10 for all students, $15 for members of the University community (graduate students, faculty, and staff), and $20 for the general public. Tickets are available online, at the Eastman Theatre Box Office, and at the Common Market, located in Wilson Commons on the University's River Campus.
