\"The I-390/Kendrick Road Interchange Project will be transformational to the region\'s economic future and is also a signal moment in the University\'s history,\" said Joel Seligman, president of the University of Rochester. \"By increasing capacity, easing congestion, and improving safety, this project will remove a major bottleneck in the current transportation network and significantly contribute to the region\'s economic revitalization. It will enable the University of Rochester to create literally thousands of jobs and help position us as one of the leading research universities of the 21st century.
\"This project would not have moved forward without the decisive leadership of Governor Andrew Cuomo. For that, and his vision for a stronger, better New York, I am deeply grateful. I also want to especially thank Lt. Governor Bob Duffy, Assemblymen David Gantt and Joseph Morelle and Department of Transportation Commissioner Joan McDonald for their leadership in advocating this project as one of the region\'s highest infrastructure priorities.\"
