TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, at the footbridge in Genesee Valley Park.
Gamma Phi Beta Sorority at the University of Rochester is sponsoring a "Lucky Rubber Ducky" race at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29, at the footbridge in Genesee Valley Park to benefit Hillside Children's Center, a nonprofit organization for emotionally troubled children and their families.
At the event, rubber ducks will be thrown into the river. The grand prize for the person whose duck reaches the finish line first is a trip for two to the Bahamas, including accommodations for four days and three nights. There are five runner-up prizes.
Ducks may be purchased during the week of Oct. 22-27 in Wilson Commons, Douglas Dining Center, and Danforth Dining Center on the River Campus. One duck can be purchased for $3 or two for $5.
