The River Jazz Ensemble of the University of Rochester will be giving a performance at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19, in Lower Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.
Directed by Matt Mealey, the ensemble will perform several classic jazz hits, including The Big Dipper by Thad Jones and Take the A Train by Sammy Nestico, and will feature Blues in Three, a piece by River Jazz member Jason Brucker. The group will also pay tribute to Duke Ellington, playing a medley of his tunes to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth.
This performance is free and open to the public. Please contact the College Music Program at (585) 275-2828 at least five days in advance to request any special accommodations.
