A professor and three students at the University of Rochester have been appointed to the board of directors for the Puerto Rican Youth Development and Resource Center.
Assistant Professor Linda Harklau and students Ana Ramos- Pell and Darka Hawryshkiw, all from the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development, will serve the organization. Student Sandra Quinones from the College also joined the board.
The center, located on North Clinton Avenue, is a United Way agency that provides support for the community. Some center initiatives include summer youth employment programs, an emergency food bank, after-school tutoring, and HIV counseling.
