University of Rochester students and the general public will have the opportunity to see major big screen and television talent in a sneak preview of the new film Ladies Man. The movie stars Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live), Karyn Parsons (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Billy Dee Williams (The Empire Strikes Back), Tiffani Theissen (Beverly Hills 90210, Saved by the Bell), Lee Evens (The Fifth Element, There's Something About Mary), and Will Ferrell (Saturday Night Live, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery). Ladies Man is being shown at 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Hubbell Auditorium in Hutchison Hall on the River Campus.
Ladies Man depicts the life of radio talk show host Leon Phelps (Meadows), a man with a mission. Drawing on his own vast and personal knowledge of love, he dispenses advice to men and women of Chicago about matters of the heart and body. Leon is earnest, inexhaustible, and inexplicably attractive to women and only wants to do one thing: help the world with his expert knowledge of amore. However, after being fired from his job for the "frank" nature of his on-air comments, Leon is running out of money and options until he receives a letter from one of his past conquests, signed only "Sweet Thing," begging him to return to her and her money. The only problem is, Leon can't remember which of his past sweet things was the "Sweet Thing." To complicate matters, a posse of cuckolded husbands is determined to take revenge on him.
The preview, which will be held in Hubbell Auditorium in Hutchison Hall on the River Campus, is free and open to the public. Door passes are required and can be obtained at the Wilson Commons Information Desk. Seating is first-come, first-serve, and is limited. For more information, contact (585) 275-5911.
