The pop/rock/folk band Guster will bring its signature sound to the University
of Rochester at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Alexander Palestra of the
Robert B. Goergen Athletic Center on the River Campus. Doors open at 7 p.m.
The group's members--Ryan Miller and Adam Gardner on guitars and vocals and
Brian Rosenworcel on percussion--became band mates in the early 1990s while
still students at Tufts University. Their simple sound and high energy made
them popular at frat houses and coffeehouses and earned them a rabid fan base
that helped promote the band.
Guster opened for Bob Dylan and also toured with Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews,
and John Mayer before headlining its own shows. The group has produced four
albums: Parachute; Goldfly, which won a Boston Music Award; Lost
and Gone Forever, and Keep it Together.
Tickets for Guster's local concert are $18 bleacher, $20 floor, for the general
public. For University of Rochester undergraduates, admission is $15 bleacher,
$17 floor. Tickets go on sale Sept. 5 at Lakeshore Record Exchange, 370 Park
Ave., and the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the River Campus, and are also
available online at www.gustertickets.musictoday.com.
Guster's appearance is sponsored by UR Concerts. For more information, call
