Meliora Weekend 2011: ‘Ever Better!’

The launch of the University’s first modern, comprehensive fundraising Campaign, The Meliora Challenge: The Campaign for the University of Rochester, marked the 10th anniversary edition of Meliora Weekend, Oct. 21–23, as a historic moment in the life of the University. More than 8,500 alumni, parents, students, faculty, and friends celebrated Rochester’s history of achievement and looked forward to making the University “ever better” during gala celebrations Friday and Saturday night.

The $1.2 billion fundraising initiative is the largest in the University’s history.

Other milestone events included a sold-out keynote address by former President Bill Clinton, the founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States; a Presidential Symposium on “The Meaning of the Constitution” moderated by Arthur Miller ’56, ’08 (Honorary); presentations by faculty; and performances by student groups and entertainers.
