The University of Rochester's Chamber Ensembles will hold a recital at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, in Lower Strong Auditorium on the River Campus. Performers will be dressed in festive costumes to celebrate Halloween, and audience members are encouraged to attend in Halloween costumes as well.

The program will include two string quartets, a woodwind quartet, and a duet for violin and piano, as well as an ensemble of madrigal singers. The musical selections include works by Beethoven, Dvorak, Malcolm Arnold, and others.

Chamber music has been performed for at least 400 years and involves the participation of 10 or fewer musicians and singers performing in a small setting.

Admission for this event is free and open to the public. Please contact the music department at (585) 275-2828 for more information.
