Dante Cicchetti, professor of psychology, psychiatry and pediatrics at the University of Rochester and director of the Mt. Hope Family Center, has been elected to the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Alliance for Autism Research.

Founded three years ago, the national alliance is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge about the causes and treatment of autism by increasing autism research, raising awareness of autism as a public health policy concern, and advocating for new autism treatments.

The scientific advisory board is comprised of leading scholars in the United States. Offices of the alliance are located in Princeton, N.J., and Los Angeles.

For 13 years, Cicchetti has been director of Mt. Hope Family Center, which offers treatment, prevention, research, and training to promote positive child development. The center is a program of the University's Department of Clinical and Social Sciences in Psychology and is located in the Corn Hill section of Rochester.
