Carrot Top will bring his inventive brand of comedy to the University of Rochester Saturday, Sept. 13. The comedian will perform at 8 p.m. in Alexander Palestra on the River Campus.

Known as a physical comedian who uses unusual props, Carrot Top has described his live act as a mix of George Carlin's observational humor, Steven Wright's dark humor, and Gallagher's props. He regularly draws large crowds at his college campus shows and is a frequent guest on variety and talk shows. The winner of a 1994 American Comedy Award as Best Male Stand-up and the subject of favorable reviews, Carrot Top has had a No. 1 daily show on the Cartoon Network, has written a book about the unusual props he uses, and maintains a popular web site. Named College Entertainer and College Comedian of the Year in 1993 by the National Association of Campus Activities, Carrot Top is the only person to receive both honors in the same year.

Tickets to the show are $10 for University of Rochester students; $12 for faculty, staff, and alumni; and $15 for the public. They will be available beginning Aug. 28 at the Common Market in Wilson Commons and Record Archive on Mt. Hope Avenue.
