Fans who come to Fauver Stadium Saturday, Nov. 4, can see two teams compete for a conference football championship and help the needy at the same time.

The Community Service Network at the University of Rochester, in conjunction with the Community Learning Center, will hold a food drive in the stadium concourse before Saturday's home game. Fans who bring two non-perishable food items to any gate will be admitted free (two items per fan). Gates open at noon.

All items collected at the gate will be distributed Saturday afternoon.

At 1 p.m., Rochester will kick off against Union College of Schenectady. Both teams are battling for the championship of the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA). Rochester is 3-0 in the UCAA, Union is 2-1. If Rochester wins, the Yellowjackets win the conference title. If Union wins, the Dutchmen may either share the conference crown in a three-way tie or win it outright (in a tiebreaker over Rochester).

Rochester defeated Union, 26-21, at Fauver two seasons ago for football coach Mark Kreydt's first head coaching victory. The Dutchmen won the rematch, 52-0, in Schenectady last season.

This season, Rochester is 5-3. Union is 7-1 and has won five straight.
