The Dance Program at the University of Rochester is sponsoring a trip to Toronto to experience a new work by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and to visit the Canadian city.

The day-long trip, on Saturday, March 20, includes opportunities to visit the Art Gallery of Ontario, Chinatown, and Eaton Center. The dance performance is in the evening at Harbourfront Centre.

The ticket price of $60 for the general public and $30 for students includes transportation and performance admission. The bus will leave the University River Campus at 9 a.m. and return after the evening show. A multicultural ensemble, the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company has earned a reputation for fusing dance and theater in its work. Since its founding in 1982, the company has created a repertoire of more than 50 works and has performed in more than 100 American cities. The group has taught and performed in Asia and Southeast Asia under the aegis of the United States Information Agency.

The company's most recent work, "We Set Out Early ... Visibility Was Poor," is a three-part piece representing the beginning, middle, and end of the 20th century. The dance is set to music by Igor Stravinsky, John Cage, and Peteris Vasks.
