The University of Rochester has appointed eight black faculty and staff members on the River Campus:

Norman Burnett is the new director of the Higher Education Opportunity Program. Burnett most recently held a position as the director of the Minority Engineering Program at Syracuse University.

Robert Dotson is assistant director of Student Activities. He recently received his master's degree in work force education and training development from Southern Illinois University.

Elizabeth Hadley Freydberg is a Rockefeller Fellow for 1994-95 in the Susan B. Anthony Center for Women's Studies. She is a professor at Northeastern University in African American studies and theater.

Dr. Fredrick Harris is an assistant professor in the political science department and also in the Frederick Douglass Institute for African and African American Studies. Dr. Harris received his Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University.

Harryette Mullen is a Rockefeller Fellow for 1994-95 in the Susan B. Anthony Center for Women's Studies. Mullen is an English professor at Cornell University.

Augustus Chaidi Nwaubani is a predoctoral fellow and instructor in the Frederick Douglass Institute. Nwaubani is in the final stages of his Ph.D. in history at the University of Toronto.

Sheila Rivers is a bookkeeper in the acquisitions department in Rush Rhees Library. Rivers recently worked for Rochester Instrument Systems Inc. as a senior cost accounting clerk.

Dr. Ufo Uzodike is the postdoctoral fellow for the Frederick Douglass Institute for 1994-95. Dr. Uzodike received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
