The Hartnett Gallery, located in Wilson Commons on the University of Rochester River Campus, is displaying "Making Thinking," an exhibition sponsored by the University's Graduate Program in Visual and Cultural Studies, through April 12.

"Making Thinking" features artwork by students in the program and showcases various forms of media such as drawing, film, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The themes of the exhibit include art in respect to the academic frame of the university, boundaries of art history, and other daily reflections. Artists include Margot Bouman, Taro Nettleton, Kirsi Peltomäki, Michelle Puetz, Cyril Reade, Victor Manuel Rodriguez, and T'ai Smith.

The visual and cultural studies program offers students the chance to earn a master's or doctoral degree by doing intensive work simultaneously in several of Rochester's humanities departments.

Hartnett Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday; and noon to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Please contact the gallery at (585) 275-4188 for more information.
