The Program of Movement and Dance at the University of Rochester is sponsoring a performance by renowned juggler Michael Moschen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, in the Spurrier Dance Studio on the River Campus. Tickets to the event are $10 for the general public and $7 for students, faculty, and staff with ID. They can be purchased at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the River Campus or at the door. Hailed as a “millennium artist,” Moschen dazzles his audience with a mesmerizing blend of music, invention, and emotion. Moschen has done both solo and collaborative performances with leading artists off-Broadway, in major concert halls, and in arts festivals in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. In addition to his live performances, Moschen’s work has also appeared in film and television and has been recognized with a prestigious McCarthur Foundation grant. He was also commissioned by Cirque de Soleil to create a new work for the company’s Las Vegas Show.

Moschen will perform a lecture/demonstration in which he will discuss his continuous engagement with the creative process. In addition to demonstrating new techniques, Moschen will explain how the creative process allows him to focus on something new and unexpected during each performance.

The Program of Movement and Dance sponsors appearances by nationally acclaimed artists and educators in lecture demonstrations, workshops, and performances. For more information, contact the Program of Movement and Dance at (585) 273-5150.
