The University of Rochester Jazz Ensemble will present its spring concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in Strong Auditorium on the River Campus. The show is free and open to the public.

The program will include “Daybreak Express” by Duke Ellington, “Scrapple for the Apple” by Charlie Parker, “St. Thomas” by Sonny Rollins, “ ’Round Midnight” by Thelonious Monk, and many more. The jazz ensemble is made up of more than 15 members, all students of the University.

Conductors for the jazz ensemble concert are Rodney Lancaster and Eric Schmitz, who are candidates for the degree Doctor of Musical Arts at the Eastman School of Music in the Department of Jazz and Contemporary Media.
