On the eve of The Spirit of Ontario making its maiden voyage from Rochester to Toronto, Mayor William Johnson, Democrat and Chronicle reporter Jim Memmott, former New York State Sen. Richard Dollinger, and Canadian American Transportation Systems Chairman Dominick DeLucia will talk about what the fast ferry will mean to Western New York at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28.

Tickets for the program, part of the Wednesday Evening Lectures sponsored by the University of Rochester Alumni Association, are $5 per person with dessert and coffee served before the event. It will be held at The Meliora in the Frederick Douglass Building on the University's River Campus.

The panel on "The Fast Ferry—and Beyond" will consider how successful the high-speed ferry will be, its impact on the local economy, and what other projects it might spur. Curt Smith, former speechwriter for President George H. W. Bush and senior lecturer at the University, will moderate.

Free parking will be available in the Library Lot. For more information and reservations, contact the Fairbank Alumni House at (585) 273-5888.
